And now, for my second post, I will tell a little bit about where we are right now.
Many of the homesteading and farm blogs that I run across seem to be written from a we're-already-on-the-farm perspective. Or perhaps they have just purchased their farm and are in the process of moving. Our blog is certainly different from those as we are still living in town with no particular farm to buy or move to yet. We rent (so to speak, as we live on a military base) and so have fewer options available for farming the yard we have. I will be looking into container gardening some this year. Hopefully that will work out well! I'll post pictures of the yard we have to work with in a future post. Maybe you might have some suggestions!
We also own a house in Ohio. Well, "own" isn't really the correct word, as we still have a sizable loan on it. We are in the process of trying to sell it. This has caused a great many heartaches as the market just hasn't been there. We decided to rent the house last year, which has gone fairly well, getting us through the last several months and a full winter. Now, it is time once again to attempt to sell. We would like to move on from that part of our lives and begin a new chapter.
And so you are brought up to where we are presently. It's not where we'd like to be but it is where we are and so we must make do! Thanks again for stopping by!
